I think it is good that the writers are using whatever paints they feel will get the best results rather than simply pushing the Citadel range.

This book would vollume useful in the hands of both gaming enthusiasts as well as finescale modeler or diorama builder. Add to Watch masterclaxs. Ahem, what I mean to say is, you’re a fantastic painter who has helped me to improve immensely.


It is like a museum book, which motivates me to try new techniques while still leaving me in awe of what artisans can achieve. I suspect this book is similar.

I really enjoyed the first book, I know it pushed some ideas and methods that I had been playing at. Personally I was very pleased with this as I have had a bit of trouble using weathering powders in the past and so hopefully this will prove useful. There are a couple of the shorter guides on painting Eldar vehicles and a section on an ork diorama which showcase very different techniques masterdlass those employed on imperial vehicles.

So back when this book first came up for pre-order I jumped and grabbed a copy missed out getting a signed copies though, damn it! I loved the first book, it was what i was looking for, a book about tackling advanced techniques so you can see how some of these skills are used.

Obviously how useful you find this depends upon what models you wish to paint the examples in masferclass book are Eldar and Chaos. It’s not like it goes over something real quick.

Having said this, there are a number of brand new techniques such as painting a marbling effect on armour as I mentioned above.
